TRICHY CITY

 

Tiruchirapalli cities quite a number of historical monuments, Tiruchirappalli, situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. It was a citadel of the early Cholas which later fell to the Pallavas. Trichy is a fine blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort. Apart from the Fort, there are several Churches, Colleges and Missions dating back to the 1760s. The town and its fort, now in Trichy were built by the Nayaks of Madurai.

Trichy is the fourth largest municipal corporation in Tamil Nadu and also it is the fourth largest urban population of the state.Trichy is located at the Heart-center of Tamil Nadu and hence forms the focal point of transport and communication. It is the convergence of the modernized and cultural population of the state of Tamil Nadu. Trichy is also called Trichy or Tiruchirappalli.

By Road: 
popularly known as Central Bus Stand, is one of the bus terminus of Trichy, Excellent roads connect Trichy with all the major towns of South India like Trichy and Coimbatore (for Ooty), Madurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Chennai. It is about 140 km. from madurai, 302 km. from Ooty and 320 km. from Madras.
